The traffic signal at the intersection of U.S. 26 and U.S. 395-C in John Day is temporarily out of service.
Effective immediately, the intersection of U.S. 26 (Main Street) and U.S. 395-C (South Canyon Boulevard) in John Day will operate as a four-way stop. This change is expected to last through August and possibly into September.
On Tuesday evening, a contractor was trenching under the road to install electrical conduit at the intersection in John Day and the traffic signal cables were inadvertently cut.
Crews will be working again from 6 p.m. tonight to 7 a.m. Thursday, then will return to daytime schedules.
During this change in traffic flow, crews will be working at this intersection on curb ramp upgrades.
Please drive with caution through this intersection. Watch for work crews and equipment.
Work will pause in John Day during the week of the Grant County Fair and Rodeo.
